In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Our help is in the Name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
Opening Prayer:
Loving God, On this fifth day of our novena in honour of the Resurrection, we come before You with hearts open to Your grace. As we gather in prayer, may Your Spirit guide us and deepen our understanding of Your Son’s victory over death. Grant us the gift of faith to believe in the reality of the Resurrection and the courage to proclaim this truth to the world. (pause and pray for trust in God’s providence and add your private intention.). We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Scriptural Reading & Meditation
(Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:20-22)
But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
The Word of the Lord…
Short Meditation
In this passage, St. Paul highlights the central truth of the Christian faith: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He emphasizes that Christ’s resurrection is not only a historical fact but also the cornerstone of our hope as believers. The resurrection of Jesus is the ultimate manifestation of God’s power over sin and death. Through His resurrection, Christ conquered death and opened the way for humanity to share in His victory. This victory is not limited to a select few but extends to all who are united with Christ through faith. Paul contrasts the effects of Adam’s sin with the redemption brought by Christ. Through Adam, sin and death entered the world, affecting all humanity. But through Christ, the new Adam, comes the promise of resurrection and eternal life. Just as all die in Adam, all are made alive in Christ.
As Christians, we are called to live in the reality of Christ’s resurrection. It is not merely a past event but a present reality that transforms our lives. Our hope is not in vain, for we have assurance that just as Christ was raised from the dead, so too will we be raised to new life with Him. Let us, therefore, live with confidence and joy, knowing that our future is secure in the resurrected Christ. May we proclaim this message of hope to the world, inviting others to share in the promise of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. Amen.
