Opening Prayer:
Heavenly Father, As we gather on this seventh day of our novena, we lift our hearts to You in gratitude for the gift of Your Son’s Resurrection. Open our minds and spirits to receive Your Word, that we may be transformed by the truth of His victory over death. May Your grace guide us as we reflect on the Scriptures and deepen our understanding of this sacred mystery. (pause and pray for couples hoping to conceive and embrace parenthood; also add your private intention). We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

(Scripture Reading: Acts 2:24-32)
But God raised him up, having freed him from death, because it was impossible for him to be held in its power. For David says concerning him, ‘I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand so that I will not be shaken; therefore, my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; moreover, my flesh will live in hope. For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One experience corruption. You have made known to me the ways of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’ Fellow Israelites, I may say to you confidently of our ancestor David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Since he was a prophet, he knew that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would put one of his descendants on his throne. Foreseeing this, David spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, saying, ‘He was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh experience corruption.’ “This Jesus God raised up, and of that all of us are witnesses.”

Short Meditation
In this passage, Peter boldly proclaims the resurrection of Jesus Christ to the gathered crowd in Jerusalem. He quotes Psalm 16, where David prophesies about the resurrection of the Messiah, affirming that Jesus is the fulfilment of this prophecy. Peter emphasizes that it was impossible for death to hold Jesus in its power because He is the Holy One of God, untouched by corruption. Through His resurrection, Jesus conquered death, fulfilling the hope of David and the prophets.
The resurrection of Jesus is not only a fulfilment of prophecy but also the central event of Christian faith. It is the foundation of our hope and the source of our salvation. Through His resurrection, Jesus offers the promise of new life to all who believe in Him. As witnesses to the resurrection, we are called to proclaim this message of hope to the world. Just as Peter boldly proclaimed the resurrection to the crowd in Jerusalem, we are called to boldly proclaim it to our communities and beyond. The resurrection is not just a historical event but a present reality that transforms lives and offers hope in the midst of despair. May we, like the apostles, bear witness to the resurrection with confidence and conviction, knowing that through Christ’s victory over death, we have been given the assurance of eternal life. Amen.
