Heavenly Father, On this eighth day of our novena, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the wondrous gift of Your Son’s Resurrection. Open our minds and spirits to the truths in Your Word, that we may be renewed in faith and strengthened in hope. Guide us as we reflect on the Scriptures and deepen our understanding of the mysteries of salvation. (pause and pray for spiritual & bodily healing/restoration; also add your private intention). We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

(Scripture Reading: Acts 13:32-37)
And we bring you the good news that what God promised to our ancestors he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son; today I have begotten you.’ As to his raising him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way, ‘I will give you the holy promises made to David.’ “Therefore, he has also said in another psalm, ‘You will not let your Holy One experience corruption.’ For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, died, was laid beside his ancestors, and experienced corruption; but he whom God raised up experienced no corruption. Let it be known to you therefore, my brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you; by this Jesus everyone who believes is set free from all those sins from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

Short Meditation
In this passage, Paul delivers a powerful message to the people of Pisidian Antioch, proclaiming the fulfilment of God’s promises through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He emphasizes that Jesus is the fulfilment of the prophecies concerning the Messiah, including those of King David. Paul emphasizes the significance of Jesus’ resurrection by quoting from the Psalms, demonstrating that Jesus is the Holy One of God who was raised from the dead and did not experience corruption. Unlike David, who died and was buried, Jesus was raised to new life, conquering sin and death once and for all. Through Jesus’ resurrection, forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to all who believe in Him. The resurrection is not merely a theological concept but a tangible reality that brings liberation and redemption to humanity. It is through faith in Jesus that we are set free from the bondage of sin and reconciled to God.
As baptized Christians, we are called to embrace the reality of Christ’s resurrection and its implications for our lives. It is the foundation of our faith and the source of our hope. Through Jesus’ victory over sin and death, we have been granted forgiveness and eternal life. May we, like Paul, boldly proclaim the message of Jesus’ resurrection to the world, inviting others to experience the freedom and salvation found in Him. Let us rejoice in the reality of Christ’s victory and live as witnesses to His resurrection power. Amen.

Gracious God, as we conclude this eighth day of our novena, we thank You for the gift of Your Son’s Resurrection, which fills us with hope and joy. May we always live in the light of this great mystery, and may Your Resurrection power transform our lives and the lives of all whom we encounter. Give us the courage to proclaim Your victory over death and to be witnesses of Your love and mercy in the world. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
