Opening Prayer:
Heavenly Father, As we gather on this last day of our novena, we raise our hearts to You in praise and thanksgiving for the glorious Resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Open our minds and hearts to the depths of this mystery, and grant us the grace to live as Easter people, filled with hope and joy in the Risen Lord. May the light of Christ dispel all darkness from our lives, and may His Resurrection power transform us into faithful disciples and witnesses of Your love. (Pause and pray in thanksgiving to God, showing gratitude for His divine provision in ways that you do not even know; also add your private intention). We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Short Meditation
In these verses from the Letter to the Colossians, the Apostle Paul exhorts believers to live in light of their union with Christ in His resurrection. He emphasizes the saving power of the resurrection, calling believers to shift their focus from earthly concerns to heavenly realities. Paul begins by reminding the Colossians of their identity in Christ: they have been raised with Him. This union with Christ in His resurrection signifies a deep spiritual reality—believers are no longer bound by the power of sin and death but have been given new life in Christ. Because of this reality, Paul urges believers to set their hearts and minds on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. This does not mean neglecting earthly responsibilities, but rather prioritizing eternal values over temporal concerns. By aligning their thoughts and affections with heavenly realities, believers demonstrate their allegiance to Christ and His kingdom. Paul further emphasizes the radical nature of the believer’s transformation by stating, “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” Through their union with Christ, believers have died to their old way of life and have been raised to newness of life. Their true identity and security are found in Christ, where they are hidden and protected.
The ultimate hope of believers, dear friends, is the glorious return of Christ (parousia), when He will appear in all His splendour. On that day, believers will also appear with Him in glory, fully transformed and perfected. This future hope serves as a powerful motivation for faithful living in the present, as believers eagerly anticipate the fulfilment of God’s promises. As we meditate on these words from Paul, may we be encouraged to live as people who have been raised with Christ, setting our hearts and minds on things above and eagerly awaiting His glorious return. Amen.
